THE VAMP IS BACK! The G.I. Joe Classified Series gets another iconic vehicle release with Clutch and the VAMP Mark II, and today we’re taking a detailed look at this highly anticipated new version!

The original G.I. Joe Classified VAMP became one of the most popular and difficult-to-find Classified releases, leaving many collectors searching for one on the secondary market. Now Hasbro is bringing the VAMP back in another iconic deco, Clutch v2, and a selection of accessories.

Clutch was a mechanic at Manny’s Mean Machines and was heavily involved in racing street machines prior to enlistment. He graduated Advanced Infantry Training, Covert Ops School, Executive Bodyguard School, and Ranger School. Duke recruited him as chief vehicle technician in charge of the G.I. Joe motor pool. The street racer in him really becomes apparent when Cobra forces are closing in on all sides. That’s when Clutch slams the pedal, and suddenly the enemy is eating dust ten miles back, wondering what happened. While famous for driving and tricking out VAMPs (Multi-Purpose Attack Vehicles), he is adept with all jeeps, quads, APCs, and any other four-wheeled vehicles he can get his hands on.

The first action figure of the rowdy gearhead Clutch was released in 1982. Since then, Clutch has remained a favorite among fans for over 40 years. He’s appeared in animated series, comics, live action, and video games.

Inspired by classic lore and updated for the Classified Series, the VAMP Mark II design blends nostalgia with modern detail. First released in 1984, the VAMP Mark II has never looked better. Our team took the original design for inspiration and gave it a huge overhaul for the modern collector.
