This figure set is bursting with 23 character-inspired accessory pieces: Footloose includes helmet, knife, bazooka, rocket, backpack, and 3 weapons accessories; Mutt includes 6 alternate hands some with dog trainer signals, nightstick, knife, helmet, 2 goggles, mask, and 3 weapon accessories; plus swapable “good boy” and “growling” heads for Junkyard. The Mad Marauders sub-team of G.I. Joe is a highly specialized, fast attack, ground assault unit that strikes the first blow for G.I.Joe against Cobra’s forces of evil!
The G.I.Joe team has done a great job in giving fans opportunities to not only add sub-team characters to their line up, but to close out those teams as well – Case in point, the Mad (Slaughters) Marauders.
It was back during #YoJoeJune of 2024 when we received full details on Marauders Spirit & Low-Light (outside of leaks, of course), so it’s great to see these two join the fray not too long after, as we finally get to close out this subgroup. Hopefully there will be a focus on both Tiger Force & Night Force next!
For anyone newer to the franchise, “Mad Marauders” is Hasbro’s modern name for what debuted in 1989 as Sgt. Slaughter’s Marauders, a jungle-camo subset of repainted figures built around wrestler Sgt. Slaughter. The vintage lineup included Slaughter himself, Footloose, Mutt & Junkyard, Low-Light, Spirit Iron-Knife, and Barbecue, all decked out in matching tropical camouflage. Classified has been rebuilding this squad piece by piece: Barbecue arrived first as a repaint of his 2021 figure, Sgt. Slaughter got his own 18-accessory release, and Low-Light and Spirit followed as a two-pack. Footloose and Mutt & Junkyard are the last pieces of that vintage puzzle to fall into place.
