SDCC 2026 – G.I. Joe Classified Series Sgt Slaughter and Triple T Render Reveal

Hasbro has kicked off their San Diego Comic-Con celebration with a render reveal of the upcoming G.I.Joe Classified Series Sgt. Slaughter and Triple T vehicle! Check it out –

Listen up, maggots. It’s snake stompin’ season, and I’m here to announce the perfect addition to the G.I. Joe Classified Series — ME, Sgt Slaughter and the Triple “T” vehicle. Together, we’re smashing through Cobra’s defenses on our way to sunny #SDCC to show off the latest and greatest action figure releases and give a little preview of what the #GIJOE team has in store to fight Cobra. See you there!

SDCC preview night kicks off in just five more days, on the 22nd. Make sure to keep it locked, as I’ll be bringing details from the event here to the ‘Port and of course to my social media accounts.

As for the Sarge and this new Triple T, I’m diggin’ it! Few pairings in G.I. Joe history are as instantly recognizable as Sgt. Slaughter and his Triple “T” tank. Bringing together pro wrestling star power and rugged battlefield firepower, this combo remains one of the most sought-after entries in the A Real American Hero toy line.

Who Is Sgt. Slaughter?

Sgt. Slaughter joined the G.I. Joe roster in 1985, lending his real-life persona as a WWE (then WWF) wrestling legend to the toyline. Known for his drill-instructor bark and no-nonsense attitude, Slaughter quickly became a fan favorite both on the shelf and in the animated series and comics that followed.

What Is the Triple “T”?

The Triple “T” Tag Team Terminator debuted in 1986 as Sgt. Slaughter’s personal vehicle. It’s a compact tankette featuring:

  • White armor plating with black treads
  • Dual-mounted guns positioned behind the driver’s seat
  • A rugged, low-profile design built for close-quarters assault

The vehicle was bundled with the Sgt. Slaughter action figure, making it a natural pairing for collectors and kids alike. Its mold didn’t stop there, Hasbro later reused and repainted it for the Night Raider (1988) and a reissued Triple T (1991 Mail Away), while international releases included silver versions in Argentina and gray versions in Brazil.

Why Collectors Still Want It

Decades later, the Sgt. Slaughter and Triple “T” set remains a highlight for vintage G.I. Joe collectors. Complete-in-box examples command strong prices, and commonly missing pieces, like the engine cover and missiles, can make finding a fully intact set a fun (and sometimes pricey) challenge. Modern reinterpretations, including 1:12 scale Classified Series customs, show that demand for this classic duo hasn’t faded.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re a lifelong G.I. Joe collector or just discovering the A Real American Hero line, Sgt. Slaughter and his Triple “T” tank are a great entry point into 1980s toy history, combining pop culture crossover appeal with genuinely solid vehicle design. Having a new version in the Classified lineup definitely feels like 1986 all over again.

Stay tuned, I’ll be sure to bring you more details on this piece from SDCC!
