The latest wave of G.I.Joe Classified Series offerings is now dropping overseas, with the Australian legend, Adam aka @sharkys_pix, dropping our first look at the Iron Grenadier, Mistress Armada!

To me, Mistress Armada is one of the more underrated villains in the G.I. Joe comics mythos, and with her long-awaited G.I. Joe Classified Series 6″ action figure now hitting shelves, it’s the perfect time to revisit what makes this character tick.
Origins in Image Comics
Mistress Armada made her debut in G.I. Joe #1, published by Image Comics in 2001, with a now-iconic J. Scott Campbell cover. Written by Josh Blaylock, that issue also introduced Kamakura and Alexander Destro, making it a landmark debut for several fan-favorite Cobra-adjacent characters.
Behind the alias is Lilian Osborne, whose backstory paints her as a spoiled, privileged young woman whose taste for luxury eventually pulled her into Cobra’s orbit. That grounding gives her a distinct flavor among Cobra’s cast: less soldier, more calculating operator who thrives on manipulation and misdirection.
Why the Character Works
What makes Mistress Armada memorable is her introduction, disguised as “Candy,” she lulls Cobra Commander into a false sense of comfort before turning violent, revealing herself as Destro’s enforcer. It’s a strong, efficient character beat that immediately signals she’s dangerous, deceptive, and not to be underestimated. Her ongoing entanglement with Destro (and by extension the Baroness) also injects some soap-opera tension into Cobra’s power structure, something the comics have leaned into across dozens of subsequent issues.
The New Toy Release
Fans have wanted a proper figure of Mistress Armada for years, and Hasbro has finally delivered with her addition to the G.I. Joe Classified Series. The 6-inch figure brings her comic-accurate look to life with multiple points of articulation for dynamic posing, making her a solid pickup for collectors building out their Cobra ranks alongside Destro and the Baroness.
