One Year of Consecutive Daily Posts!

Hey Friends! I wanted to share some excitement with you, as this post marks 365 days of consecutive posts right here on SurveillancePort.com! Crazy!

I’ve been “newsing” in the G.I.Joe community since late 2002/early 2003. I started this “hobby within a hobby” with my first “newsie” role on CobraIsland.com. Three years later, In 2006, I helped launch HissTank.com, where I acted as the Senior Administrator/Editor for over 10 years. I’ve helped many other sites that have come and gone over the years and am thankful for the opportunity that I’ve had with each one.

I embarked on my own in 2017, launching this very page. Being a newsie has always been fun to me, as I’ve always loved geeking out with like-minded individuals. I could care less about follower counts, clicks, etc. If even ONE person reads a post, then I feel like my time was well spent.

So, oddly enough, in the almost 6 years that I’ve owned this site, I’ve never accomplished something like this. It was a year ago today that my Wife said “You should try to post something every day for a year.” What? How? I wasn’t an influencer like some, nor do I have a YouTube channel like most. I’m old school. I like reading/writing/taking pictures. “What the hell, let’s do it”, I replied back to her…

Here we are, 365 days later. Friends, THANK YOU for giving me the desire to keep on keeping on. You helped me post through cancer, through depression, through COVID and even through those Forever Clever G.I.Joe Building Block sets (YIKES).

It’s been such a rewarding experience, especially teaming up with Pete from G.I.Joe Nation to share toy photography from our community every #CobraSunday. I even share some here on the front page. Thankfully, Flickr chooses what gets posted, as I don’t think I would ever do well at that game.

Not sure that I’ll be able to keep the consecutive streak going for another 365, but I’ll do my best! So, with that, here’s to the next year! THANK YOU!!
