Most people know me as a G.I. Joe fan. What a lot of people don’t know is that my oldest hobby is…coin collecting! I’ve been doing it since I was 2. My grandparents gave me a major head start on it, starting off with pennies that went back to the beginning of the 20th century. I still do it today, focusing not only on US coins, but foreign coins as well-mostly from Eastern Bloc countries that no longer exist! My biggest acquisition last year was one of each new British coin with Charles III as monarch.

While I love coins and G.I. Joe, the combination of the two is something I will pass on. I know there are only 2,000 of these and they are pure silver, there will be little appreciation (or depreciation) on this coin not related to silver prices. Buy it because it looks cool if you want, but don’t expect it to be worth more than its melt value.

Oh man, that’s amazing!! I’m a bit of an amateur collector myself…

Would you believe that in my youth, I spent TWELVE silver quarters in exchange for a pack of cigarettes? Ah, the 90s. =/

Your collection sounds amazing! I’d love to see some of your eastern bloc assortment (no pressure, BUT GO TAKE PICS RIGHT NOW lol).

As for the value, you aren’t anywhere near wrong there. I purchase the NZ mint’s last G.I.Joe piece. Nothing like spending $99 for $2 in silver…but eh, it’s a fun little piece, so to your point, I enjoy it from that aspect as I know I’m never going to retire on it.
