1:18th Scale Toy News & Rumors G.I.Joe SUPER7

Super7 Announces G.I.Joe O-Ring Figures Coming Fall 2024

Rejoice, O-ring fans! We can finally put the speculation to rest as it’s been confirmed – Super7 is bringing back G.I.Joe O-Ring offerings in Fall of 2024!

Today, Pixel Dan sat down with Brian Flynn of Super7 to talk about the revival of G.I.Joe O-rings and to share word of an upgrade to the Mothership campaign! Here’s the scoop –

It’s official… O-Ring will be joining our 3.75″ figure line in Fall ’24! We’ll be kicking off the product line with characters from G.I. Joe Sunbow, DiC, and ’80s Comic!

To celebrate this news, we are re-deploying our Tier 3 unlock (Super7 Exclusive Cobra Viper Gunner Commander Reaction & O-Ring Figures) to be part of the base Cobra Mothership offering! That’s right, instead of two figures, you now get FOUR. But remember, this project takes off ONLY if we hit our order threshold by December 11, 2023 at 11:59PM/PT. So, hurry and head over to Super7.com to pre-order! #Super7#GIJoe#GIJoeNation#GIJoeToys#Mothership @gijoe

I’ve been a fan and collector of the G.I.Joe franchise since 1982. I’ve supported the line through all its iterations since then – from DTC through the modern era and beyond to Classified.

I’ve never been shy to say that I wasn’t a big fan of Classified. The figures themselves are absolutely gorgeous, but the scale just wasn’t my cup of tea. Sure, I still own at least 50+ Classified offerings, but there’s still something about those 1:18 pieces of hand candy that will always gut punch me right in the nostalgia.

My friends, we are truly in an o-ring renaissance. @officialskeletron@operationrecall@cslongbow@legendsofthehiddenforce and more are coming our way and will get to share shelf space alongside what I assume will be absolutely killer, deep cut offerings.

Speaking of which, I’ve also never been too shy about noting that I was never found of the 5 POA offerings. Sure, they too are good looking and their cards are spectacular, but if I wanted 5 POA, I’d collect Star Wars…so with that said, thank you, @brianflynn and @super7 for giving o-ring fans across the community a reason to celebrate today.

You can rest assured that I will be all over this line once it drops next year. Hell, I may even begin doing uncarding videos, because nothing says keeping up with the times like starting my youtube career in 2024.

I’M SO FRIGGIN’ EXCITED!

So with that, use the comment section here to sound off – Are you as excited as I am? Or could you care less? Indifferent either way?

Will Super 7 still be in business by fall or 2024?

I have no reason to believe that they wouldn’t be. Super7 has been in operation since 2004 (2001 if you count their magazine).

I don’t know. I’ve probably like a thousand O-ring figs and I still love my 1:18 GI Joe (and similar) collection. But I’ve to admit I’ve kind’ a moved on and the 6-inch scale now has my attention, be it Marvel Legends, Classified or Action Force (and others of course). I still buy the occasional 1:18 fig, and I’ve backed a couple of the kickstarters (which then take ages before you ever get the merchandise in your hands, which is also slightly frustrating I’ve to admit), but in general it’s not something I’m still actively looking for. From a price perspective it’s also often a turndown as 1:18 figs cost almost as much, sometimes even more than their 1:10 scale counterparts. My most recent orders, were a couple of Eagle Force Red Shadows remakes, but that’s about it. I’m quite interested in the recent Hiya figs, but unfortunately those are almost impossible to find and I’m not willing to spend 40-50 bucks import on them.
This being said, I’m interested in this new offering. But it kind’ a feels like a mixed bag. New O-ring figs, cool. Super7, not so much I’ve to admit. I hope they will at least offer these for a reasonable price, unlike a lot of their other merchandise. But when I look at that Mothership, I’m not exactly holding my breath. :s

Your post definitely speaks to the range of emotions that I felt myself, with just one small twist: In the same way that 1:12 has earned your attention, I’ve slowly but surely slinked away from the scale. I’m not exactly sure as to why, as the offerings have been quite fantastic. I think it has something to do with the nostalgia factor, but to your point, I need to have them in hand before I can feel any kind of attachment (or lack thereof).

One more day for that Mothership. We’ll see!
