O-ring fans, REJOICE! Earlier this morning. Super7 opened preorders for their G.I.Joe ReAction Cobra Mothership vehicle offering.
Well friends, alongside the news of this highly anticipated vehicle came word of a few special unlocks that would be reached at Tier 3 and at project funding…
The return of O-rings! So, allow me to word vomit for just a sec as I’m SUPER EXCITED. Not only are o-rings coming back, but I get a chance to preorder a 5 pack upon funding of the Mothership AND get the chance at an exclusive colorway as a tiered goal?! LET’S GET IT!
Super7 has also confirmed the return of o-rings at NYCC currently taking place, so stay tuned for more info on that front as it becomes available.

Friends, I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for this news. You may have seen me note something similar in other 3.75″ related posts, but it really does seem as though an o-ring renaissance is upon us!

From the pictures I’ve seen online so far, it looks like these o-ring Vipers are swivel neck/straight arm figures — similar to Hasbro’s 1982 releases and not like the 1986 releases (articulation wise). Can anyone confirm or deny this? Did Super7 clarify this at it’s panel?

I saw those pics (if we’re looking at the same ones) and I’m unsure. Some look like 5POA figures. Some look like straight arm figures. And maybbeee a couple have poses that suggest swivel arms. I did plenty of zooming in on my phone and I *think* I see a hint of a bicep cut on some of them. But…honestly…if I were Super7, I’d make sure everyone knew where all the articulation points were so none of us were disappointed if we chose to buy the Viper 5 pack.

You’re right about that; I really do hope we get an official presser soon. The more I look at the various pics online, the more I see one “Viper” with an arm that looks swiveled, but at this point, I need solid confirmation. As you noted, I’d hate for a good chunk of us to be disappointed by ’82 articulation, regardless if it harkens the return of o-ring or not.
