New Look At Cobra Arctic HISS Tank And New Render Reveals

Hey everyone! Things have been a bit quiet around these parts, as there really hasn’t been much to write home over outside of Operation: Recall arriving.

That changes today, as the G.I.Joe team has shared a new look at the upcoming G.I.Joe Classified Series Arctic H.I.S.S., alongside THREE new render reveals of upcoming arctic troop builders. Check it out –

Cobra is rolling out for winter warfare. ❄️🐍 This is a limited-time pre-order, exclusively on #HasbroPulse through January 4, 2026. Don’t miss your window to deploy Cobra’s latest assault! 🔗 https://go.hasb.ro/AHISS-YTC Get a full 360° look at the G.I. Joe Classified Series #216 Arctic Assault H.I.S.S. (High Speed Sentry) and Arctic Assault H.I.S.S. Driver as BMac and Lenny break down the prototype in hand – cold-weather upgrades, weapons, and all. Plus, three NEW Classified Series figure reveals are coming to build out the frozen battlefield in 2026!

Alongside this walkaround of the Arctic H.I.S.S. came the surprise of (3) render reveals to help supplement those arctic forces out there. First up? The arctic Steel Corps Trooper –

The Arctic Steel Corps feels like an LBC, as it’s just a Big Ben body & gear with a Steel Brigade Corps helmet, but with that said, it’s a pretty cool looking figure and one that is desperately needed to supplement the upcoming Snow Cat.

Next up? An Arctic Cobra S.A.W. Viper –

This release is a straight repaint, with the added wolf pelt from the Snow Serpent. The figure looks awesome and I’m sure that wolf gear will make him look even more menacing when equipped.

Last but not least is a “new” character, albeit just a rename of a repaint – Check out the Cobra Drift Viper –

The Joe team knows that the Drift Vipers are the squad that are dropped in the arctic to see who can make it and rise through the ranks.

It’s not rare for Hasbro to grab a character and rename it for other purposes, as this is just a Night Viper painted white. I dig the premise of a trooper dropped into the arctic, with those that survive climbing through the ranks…but isn’t that the MO of Range Vipers?

That aside, the two arctic cobra characters revealed here are giving me big Operation: M.O.T.H. vibes and I’m here for it!

Don’t forget, you have until January 4th to get your preorder for the Arctic H.I.S.S. in. Hasbro will share word later as to when these arctic troop builders will be up for preorder, so stay tuned for that info.

Will you be adding any are all of these cool (pun intended) offerings to your collection?

The Cobra Arctic SAW Viper and Drift Vipers seem a strange approach to reusing molds with even less paint than before but maybe it will be someone’s cup of tea. It certainly permits an ambitious customizer to create a Python Patrol, DIRE Tech, or Crimson Strike Force variant or even a Dreadnok classic color scheme later on down the line. I hadn’t seen the deluxe Snow Serpent as a good army builder and opted for the practical Retro version figuring I could create an 80s callback with gear from other figures if I really wanted to. But the SAW viper is probably now the best chance to get that wolf pelt set. (I doubt I’d want it in DIRE tech green…)

Ultimately, I hoped we’d get an issue instead of the 25th anniversary Cobra Arctic team, where we had the Arctic deco of two Vipers, a Televiper, two Snow Serpents, a Snow Serpent officer, and Scrap Iron. Although I’d think he would hate the assignment if he’s lugging a heavy missile drone around with him, hoping it won’t fall through the ice. I suppose it’s too much to hope we’ll get an Arctic Destro, Baroness, Cobra Commander and Dr. Mindbender next year. I don’t think we’ll see a WOLF any time soon now, alas.

You strike such a great point; It really is a strange approach. Hopefully it works, as I’m with you, I would love to see an Arctic 7 pack (Desert, too).

I adore the arctic Destro super7 released, as he’s got big Resolute vibes, so I hope we do see something similar in the 1:12 range.

The Pursuit of Cobra arctic outfit is a modern design, but the Resolute long coat will be more versatile especially for those who think wandering around a battlefield with a medallion and an open high collared shirt is a little impractical when you’ve got so much dangerous experimental ordnance and energy weapons going off all over the place, given that Cobra is basically OSHA violations spelled sideways.

I’m definitely hoping we see Cobra desert forces expanded. the Desert Scorpion is a good set, but I can’t army build with him at that price, and I loved the design of the Sideshow Cobra Desert Ops officer and trooper, but again, absolutely impossible to do much more than a 2-man scene if you can afford it. I just hope we get alternate heads for Rock Vipers that demonstrate not everyone has to get the same moustache once they’re accepted in the unit.
