New to the G.I. Joe Classified Series line, G.I. Joe Trooper comes ready for adventure, with multiple points of articulation for high poseability. This G.I. Joe Trooper figure contains 14 character-inspired accessory pieces including knife, helmet, alternate head, 6 alt hands, weapon accessories and figure stand. G.I. Joe Troopers are the unsung support staff that keep the G.I. Joe special operations force functioning. Among their many vital tasks, these “greenshirts” provide infantry combat, tactical support, materiel supply, vehicle maintenance and repair, and sentry duties. After Checking out Bee’s review of the Retro Cardback G.I. Joe Trooper, my overall impression has definitely settled into a bit of disappointment —with a few fair caveats. On the positive side, this figure still nails that classic, army-builder appeal. The sculpt holds up beautifully next to the rest of the Classified lineup, and for anyone who grew up army-building 3.75″ greenshirts, it feels like the modern upgrade we always hoped for.

From the looks of things, articulation is smooth, and posing options are excellent, especially once you start mixing in weapons and accessories from other Classified releases. The paintwork on the face and gear is clean for a mass-release figure, and the Trooper looks fantastic holding down display space behind your named Joes. What I don’t understand is how there isn’t a standard neck peg size yet.

That said, some of the initial concerns still linger. The plastic used for the cardback is noticeably thinner than what longtime collectors might expect from “retro-style” packaging—great for opening, not so great for mint-on-card fans. The included gear loadout is solid but not spectacular; it feels like Hasbro played it a bit safe instead of giving us that one or two standout accessories that make a troop builder irresistible to buy again and again.

Overall, though, the Retro Cardback G.I. Joe Trooper delivers where it counts. It’s a fun, faithful, no-nonsense addition to the Classified shelf, and if you’re already invested in building out your Joe ranks, this one definitely earns its spot. If you were hoping for a more premium retro package or an accessory refresh, you may feel a little lukewarm—but judged purely as a figure, it’s a reliable troop builder that keeps the Classified line moving in the right direction.
