Yo Backers!

In case you missed the last few updates, Year One Wave One ships this December! Then we will ship four more regular waves of four figures to round out the Year One offering of 20 figures. Year Two design work is underway so that we can roll seamlessly into Year Two offerings in similar regular waves.

Let’s have a look at the latest:

Year One Wave One Final Engineering Pilots are in hand!

This is your first look at the packaged manufactured toys! These were poured in the proper plastic colors in the steel molds, spray ops were applied, and then they were assembled. Then they were packaged with the preproduction inserts. The factory mailed us three copies of each MOC figure, and they look and feel INCREDIBLE in hand. I cannot wait for you all to open your toys this Christmas to feel what we’ve been working on.

***WARNING: YEAR TWO SPOILERS AHEAD!***

O:R Y1W1F1 (Year 1, Wave 1, Figure 1) Breacher & Hellhound and Y2W4F1 Desert Ops Breacher & Hellhound

Above you can see O:R Y1W1F1 (Year 1, Wave 1, Figure 1) Breacher & Hellhound, and a sneak peek of Y2W4F1 Desert Ops Breacher & Hellhound. We are not only planning ahead, we are TOOLING ahead! Desert Ops Breacher & Hellhound have a new hatless head sculpt and a new three color Ronin ballistic helmet to go along with that sweet four color Desert Ops camo. We are sparing no expense to make Operation: Recall the absolute best o-ring figures they can be.

O:R Y1W1F2 Dark Reapers and Y2W1F3 Dark Reapers Officers

Above you can see O:R Y1W1F2 Dark Reapers, and a sneak peek of Y2W1F3 Dark Reapers Officers. We are not only planning ahead, we are TOOLING ahead! Dark Reapers Officers have an updated deco and the forearm grenades are replaced with a communications tablet.

Y1W1F3 Mzimu Corps and Y2W1F4 Were-Jackal

Above you can see the O:R Y1W1F3 Mzimu Corps, and a sneak peek of Y2W1F4 Were-Jackal. The year one Mzimu Corps have two unique skin tones and two uniquely sculpted sets of arms (with different scarification patterns). This is something Mark Pennington came up with in our kickoff brainstorming meeting, and I thought it was brilliant to have an “army builder” with unique characteristics. If you order two Mzimu Corps, you will receive BOTH variants. No blind boxes. No chase figures. No FOMO “convention exclusive” marketing here. Simply buy two, and you’ll get both variants! This is the ONLY year one variant.

Again, we are TOOLING ahead! The year two Mizmu Corps leader is shown here as well. Were-Jackal will feature an all new maskless head sculpt and an all-new set of arms with the most intense scarification patterns.

Y1W1F4 General Mortífero and Y1W5F4 General Mortífero unmasked

Above you can see the O:R Y1W1F4  General Mortífero, and a sneak peek of Y1W4F4 General Mortífero unmasked. Again, we are TOOLING ahead! The mail-order General Mortífero unmasked figure will feature an all new maskless head sculpt and blood splattered face and mace. This mail-order Mortífero will be FREE to ALL-IN backers, and will be made available to all O:R collectors by sending in campaign medals that are printed on each cardback.

We just unboxed these mint on card final engineering pilots (MOC FEPs) at JoeLanta last weekend. If you’d like to see a detailed video reviewing each of these MOC FEPs, check this video out

Year One Figure Production Process summary and update:

Here are the steps we are taking to create O:R action figures, from sculpture to mass production:

1. Hand sculpt
2. Cast in resin
3. Hand paint (paintmaster)
4. Photograph paintmaster and create Paintmaster /scalemaster reference images for the factory (these are also posted on the Roll Call page)
5. Scan resin at factory
6. Revise 3D scans
7. 1st model made, review
8. 2nd model made, review
9. Tooling
10. Engineering pilot
11. Final engineering pilot
12. Mass production

Here’s where each wave stands in that process:
Wave one is at #12, mass production!
Wave two is at #9, tooling.
Wave three has cleared #6, 3D sculpt revisions, and the factory is now working on #7, 1st models.
Wave four is in progress at #6, 3D sculpt revisions.
Wave five features two figures that have cleared #5, and figures from wave one and wave two.

Check out last month’s update to see the wave two 2nd models, the wave three Damselfly 1st model, and the wave three 3D sculpts for all four figures.

We’ve kicked off 3D sculpture revisions for wave four, and below you can see our work on Lilith. Carter has been killing it on these sculpts!

On the left you see the rounds of revisions we went through, from factory scans of Mike Good’s hand-sculpted figure at the bottom, to the final approved sculpt at the top.

On the right you can see once again, we are TOOLING ahead for year two. Current plans are calling for Lilith’s year two figure to be a deluxe Desert Ops figure with a working parachute! We’ve sculpted an alternate helmeted head and a removable HALO mask to go with this version.

Even better: we are working with our friends at Delta-17 to make sure our helmet peg matches their helmet peg, so you can use Shepherd’s  reversible night vision goggles with Lilith! We are excited to work with our friends from Delta-17 to look for other opportunities to make these lines interoperable.

Year Two Design Update!

Ron Rudat and Mark Pennington‘s Operation: Recall work continues.

Ron Rudat has finalized sculpt sheets for Aurelii (plural for Aurelius, Orthrus’s Anti-Gravity Laser Troopers) and Crossroads (the A.T.L.A.S. Remote Weapons Technician), and he’s now working on presentation art before moving on to MORE YEAR TWO figures!

Mark Pennington has completed presentation art for Glidepath (the A.T.L.A.S.’s Wingsuit Air Assault Specialist), Great Whites (Orthrus Deep Sea Divers) and Matchstick (Enemy Arsonist), and he is now moving through figure and accessory sculpt sheets for all three before moving on to MORE YEAR TWO figures!

Finally, Mark Gerwig has begun sculpt work on accessories for Aurelii and Crossroads!

So what’s next?!

Wave One will be here in December, and your toys will start shipping immediately! Wave two will proceed through steps #7-12 above and we anticipate taking delivery of those in May 2026.

Then what?

We fully intend to hit a regular rotation of 4-5 months for the remaining waves. We’ll keep pushing and perfecting our process to that end. If possible, we will push to quarterly waves. That would be my ultimate goal. We are building this line so that waves WILL NOT STOP. We want this line to be something fun to work on and play with in perpetuity, and with your help, we’ll get there!

What can you do?

Please continue to talk about Operation: Recall with your friends. Share the Roll Call page so they can see the Year One offerings we are developing.

New backers are still welcome, but please note that PayPal orders charge right away, and credit card orders are locked and charged weekly.

Once these figures start landing in December, momentum should really pick up! We are planning for this line to be successful and to continue in perpetuity – and it WILL as long as the community supports it!

THANK YOU for helping us bring these figures to life. I hope we get to continue this journey for many years to come… it’s been an amazing ride.

Carson
