Atomic Arcade Shares First Look At Upcoming Snake Eyes Video Game

Way back in Summer of 2023, US developer Atomic Arcade, led by ex-Warner Bros. developer Ames Kirshen, shared word of a G.I. Joe Snake Eyes video game in pre-production. At the time, AA shared that it’s moved from the concept phase into the pre-production phase on a “AAA” G.I. Joe Snake Eyes game after approval from Wizards of the Coast.

Fast forward to almost two years later, where today Atomic Arcade gave us our first look at the game along with a brief update. Check it out –

We are hard at work on our game centered on Snake Eyes, the legendary ninja/commando from G.I. Joe, and we wanted to share a glimpse of the awesome work our team is doing. Here is a peek at our Snake Eyes character model rendered in-engine.

That shot with the Arashikage logo looks AWESOME. As someone who has become a casual gamer in his old age, I am cautiously optimistic that this game will be everything that G.I.Joe fans have wanted and am really looking forward to finally playing it. This quote from 2023 on the game really does it for me:

“Well I can’t go into detail on a majority of the elements of our game that I am most excited about as they would spoil too much. But what I will say is one of the main reasons we choose to lead with Snake Eyes for the first game is that if you strip away all of the G.I. Joe IP specific elements, at his core Snake Eyes is half deadly Ninja and half elite Spec Ops Military Commando. We believe the combination of those abilities and associated tools that Snake has in his tool chest make for a very compelling and unique video game protagonist for anyone who enjoys AAA action/adventure games.”

What say you? Looking forward to it, or skipping it all together? Make sure to stay tuned, I’ll bring you more details as they’re made available.
