It’s time!
- Cereal? – CHECK!
- Comfy Spot? – CHECK!
- Imagination? – LOCKED & LOADED!
For this Saturday Morning Cartoon session, we’re checking out a sometimes forgotten classic, Galtar and the Golden Lance!

Galtar and the Golden Lance is a 30-minute animated sword and sorcery television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, which aired in syndication in 1985–86 as part of The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera. The show ran for 21 episodes and is thought to have been created due to the rising popularity of the He-Man franchise.
Talk about a blast from the past! Truth be told, I had forgotten all about this series until I started looking for something different to post up for this session. It’s unlocked so many fun memories of going to breakfast with my Dad on Saturday mornings, only to race home before I missed any more cartoons!
I also fondly remember trying to connect any two swords I had at the hilt in order to recreate the golden lance. Ah, simpler times, my friends. Simpler times.
Did you watch Galtar? Did you enjoy it? If this was your first time taking it in, what are your thoughts? Sound off in the comments as I’d love to hear your opinion!
