Many thanks go to IGN for sharing word of an upcoming SDCC 2025 exclusive based on none other than the Dreadnoks as Cold Slither! Details were also shared on new music based on Cold Slither, along with a comic book tie-in inbound from Skybound Entertainment. Here’s the scoop –
The G.I. Joe Classified: Dreadnoks Cold Slither – Band of Vipers action figure set is based on a classic episode of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and will be one of Hasbro’s exclusive items at San Diego Comic-Con this summer. Check out the slideshow gallery below for a closer look at this incredible set:
The Cold Slither set includes 6-inch figures of Zartan, Ripper, Buzzer, and Torch, all decked out for the Band of Vipers World Tour concert. The set comes with no fewer than 29 accessories, including various musical instruments like a guitar, bass, keytar, and drum set. Even the packaging is designed to recreate the Springfield Theater.
This box set will be sold exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con, which runs from July 24-27, 2025. As with all Hasbro exclusives, limited quantities will be made available on the Hasbro Pulse website after the show.
Hasbro is really leaning into the musical theme by releasing an actual Cold Slither album. The company is teaming with Reigning Phoenix Music to bring the band to life. Here’s the official description of the Cold Slither album:
In 2025, Cold Slither, the iconic heavy metal rock band from G.I. Joe lore, are releasing their highly anticipated debut album. Headlined by the phenomenal self-titled anthem “Cold Slither,” the album delivers 10 electrifying tracks that blend searing distorted guitar riffs, pounding rhythms, and irresistibly catchy, anthemic choruses.
Finally, Skybound is getting in on the fun with a comic book tie-in called G.I. Joe: Cold Slither. Skybound teases, “The Greatest Rock Band Reunites to Rule the World…unless G.I. Joe can stop them!”. Fans can stay tuned to the Skybound website learn more about the comic.
To me, this is exactly what a Con exclusive should be – Not a general release item that then becomes impossible for fans to get a hold of, but instead more of a niche item, that while absolutely awesome, won’t necessarily cause a collection to miss out on a “core” character/item.
