Hasbro Toy Panel Live from WonderCon

Many thanks to Phillip of Articulated Points fame for livestreaming the Hasbro Panel from WonderCon 2024 earlier today! For G.I.Joe fans, the hype was a bust, as the “New Cobra Figures” revealed…weren’t exactly new. Check out the panel below with details to follow –

So, as you can see, there was much of anything new revealed. Noted in the panel for G.I.Joe Classified were:

G.I.Joe Classified Series Retro Cardbacks

• Beachhead
• Cobra Eel
• Cobra Snow Serpent

G.I.Joe Classified Series (Mainline)

• Cobra Ferret with Scout

G.I.Joe Classified Series Name Only Reveals

• “Once a Man” Cobra Commander (G.I.Joe Animated Movie)

As noted above, none of the actual digital reveals are new, as they were first shared during Hasbro’s G.I.Joe Leap year Fan Stream. At least the name drop of Cobra Commander is new. Makes me snicker a bit, as so many of the “in the know” folks talked so much smack about the movie and its characters for so long, yet here they are salivating on each other over this particular version of Cobra Commander. Make it make sense.

Something really interesting? Aside from the Star Wars and Transformers offerings that were shared (86 Swoop! WOO HOO!), there was this anomaly that I didn’t ask for, but I sure do want. It’s the Ghostbusters line up, with Ecto-1, in 1:18 scale! I didn’t have o-ring Ghost Busters on my bingo card but I’m here for it! Check it out –

Crazy how Hasbro can give us Ghostbusters in 1:18 scale, but not G.I.Joe? Make it make sense, please.

Well friends, that’s a wrap. I’m excited for those that are excited, but nothing shown for G.I.Joe is really making me set my calendars for their expected preorder drop on 04/04.

Those Ghostbusters though? Yeah, I think I need to check those out!
