Last night, the 1st tier for the Haslab G.I.Joe Classified Series Dragonfly campaign was unlocked, bringing Night Force Ripcord to all those who have backed the campaign.
Today, we received word on who will be unlocked if the campaign reaches 16,000 – Jane “Glenda” Mullighan.
G.I. JOE ASSAULT COPTER DRAGONFLY (XH-1) CLASSIFIED RECRUIT #2
Well done, friends. As our Assault Copter fleet continues to grow, the Joe team needs another pilot to keep our birds flying high and to train the next generation of recruits. I’ve found the perfect candidate among the ranks of our international comrades in arms, the Comandos Heroicos. They stand proud in defense of freedom. If Operation: Dragonfly reaches 16,000 orders before the end of the campaign on July 17th, all backers will receive a G.I. Joe Classified Series Jane “Glenda” Mullighan action figure in addition to the base offering. The piloting skills of this Master Instructor rival those of any active Joe and as an added bonus we’ve included a separate harness which is adjustable to fit multiple figure sizes and attaches to the hoist’s rescue hook. Let’s work together to bring Jane “Glenda” Mullighan into the G.I. Joe fold.
For those unfamiliar with the character, she’s an international release (Plastirama – Argentina). Here’s the scoop from her original file card, courtesy of YoJoe:

As a six year old child, she amazed all of her home town’s inhabitants when she skillfully flew one of their most sophisticated helicopters under her father’s supervision. When her father heroically died, GLENDA swore to continue fighting for his noble cause. Today, she is an Air Intelligence Officer and helicopter co-pilot in high risk missions. She is the first woman to ever become Master Instructor of Heroic Commands.
My thoughts? I think she’s a cool international character and a welcome addition to the lineup; However, I’m not entirely sure she was the best fit for the second unlock, especially considering how picky our fandom can sometimes be.
I’m also not entirely sure that offering a repaint of what will undoubtedly be classic/retro Scarlett somewhere down the line is the best move. I do dig her weapons though and look forward to adding Flash to my ranks soon since he and Glenda share the same weapons.
What are your thoughts on this tier reveal?
SURVEILLANCE PORT 
Not going to lie or sugar coat it, this is a major turn-off for me. I have no nostalgic (or otherwise) connection to this character and it actually makes me less like to invest as I am on the fence still.

Mr. Weber, I’m with you, my good man.
It’s a good looking figure and a welcome addition to a line that could benefit from more female representation.
That said, I think being more aware of the target audience is key here. With so many new fans jumping in to the mythos courtesy of Classified and how many of those same fans tend to share concerns regarding Haslab pricing, maybe now wasn’t the best time to shoehorn in a character that not many are familiar with?
It’s clear that the mold will be used for a Retro Scarlett, her gear for Flash. I sincerely hope that I’m just well off base and fans really do want an Argen7 deep cut.

Bah, I’m glad with this character. Leave the regular well known figs for retail. I think a project like this just needs something a little bit more special they otherwise would probably never make. I doubt occasional new fans who just jumped in are willing to just fork over 300 bucks anyway and should be the core audience of a Haslab project (it’s a bit like those 3.75 inch convention sets which were also clearly aimed at diehard fans and collectors).

My friend, you hit the nail right on the head (well, for me, at least).
I think Glenda is a wonderful character with a rich history that should most definitely be explored. That said, should that exploration have been kicked off as the 2nd tier? Probably not, as illustrated by the slowdown experienced.
I’m hopeful that once retailers are looped in we don’t have to worry about those totals anymore.
